Follow the Sun Pavilion: LA 2028 Summer Olympics “Finish Line (Marathon & Playground)”
The function of the "Finish Line" pavilion is to draw more spectators to the Olympic marathon start and finish line, by increasing viewership through visual and structural design. Located at LA City Hall, the pavilion serves as a series of paths and lookouts, at which one can view the competitors running past them. The pavilion encourages the participation of Olympic attendees and local communities, with an eye-catching mega graphic and vibrant color scheme throughout the entire marathon course (26.2 miles). It is constructed of painted wood, and engages the Olympic games concept “LA 2028 is about what we have, not what we’re going to build”, by having a structural life post-olympics as a playground in Grand Park (across from the marathon start).
